Pastor's Day

Sunday the church celebrated Pastor Appreciation Day. Deb and I were blown away by all you did. Receiving a thank you can be very difficult, Sunday this was especially true. Listening as you shared your love and told stories of our history together reminded me of how fortunate we are to have you as friends. I don't think I have ever been real good at thank you, but please know that we are grateful to have the privilege to serve as Pastor to such a wonderful group.

A church in town has a Pastor who commutes to church in his helicopter, the church wanted to buy us one;-)

Youth Service

Sunday was a great youth service. The "Human Videos" as well as the messages were very powerful. I especially enjoyed the time of prayer where anyone who was prayed for was encircled by our youth and received special encouragement from them. This is a wonderful group!

Mud anyone?

The annual Mud Run was held today. It is a 3K race with basically no rules but to have fun, and oh by the way finish the race by running through @50 yards of mud. My brother and his sons tried to make it a church event, but as you can see the only takers were themselves. It was quite a site to see the costumes that were worn. Clay won the award for best child's costume. Maybe next year we can make is a group outing, well maybe.

Michelle's Birthday

Today is Michell's (Andi) Birthday. Looks like she has some "great friends" ;-) Happy Birthday Babe. How is it that you children can catch up to your age, she is now 29 and I am barely older than that.

Best seat in the house

I have worked the "roof" of War Memorial Stadium for @ 10 years now. My job is part spotter and dispatcher for the medics. Last nights game though we won was some say lack luster, still I forget how lucky I am to have such a great seat. Isn't that the way it is with life, we get so accustomed that we forget how truly fortunate we are.
May we all remember God's goodness and favor to us even in the small things.

Life

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."
